Q) How long does it take to make one of your wood pieces of artwork?
A)  It depends on what I am making.  A bowl or plate can take from 3-6 hours, a pen from 1-2 hours, and a serving spoon usually takes about an hour to make.

Q) Are your bowls and plates food safe?
A)  Most of them are not food safe, but it depends on the finish I put on the wood. If you would like a "food safe" bowl or plate please let me know. To keep it protected "food safe" you will need to simply rub in some mineral oil once every few months.

Q) Is my information secure when I order with you?
A) Yes. Ordering is completed via Paypal or directly via telephone so that your information is always kept secure. 

Q)  Why do your prices vary on your website?
A) Individual prices vary widely because each work is unique and handmade and the cost of materials and time spent to create them is different for each work. 

Q) Is the artwork I receive the same as in the picture on the website?
A) The pieces for sale in the Catalog are exactly as pictured. However, custom pieces are also available. 

Q) Why does it sometimes take longer to ship certain items?
 A) When I am making my custom pieces of artwork, I take my time to make sure that it is done properly and free from any blemishes or defect before I ship it out.  In the unlikely event that I cannot ship an item as soon as I expected I will keep you as informed as possible about when it will ship.

Q) What forms of payment do you take?
A) I accept payment via Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and Personal Checks by phone or in person.  Checks can be made payable to "Custom Woodturning."  Your purchase will be sent out upon clearance of your check.

Q) How do you ship your products?
 A) I ship using UPS or USPS, depending on weight and priority.  The final price includes all shipping and handling costs. 

Q) Do you do engraving?
A)  Yes, on pens only, the shorter barrel can hold about 28 characters and the longer about 35.  Engraving will cost an additional 20 dollars.  Please be sure to include your engraving request with exact text upon ordering.  Turn around time for engraving is  7-14 business days. 

Q) What if my product becomes damaged or defective?
A) As with any wooden product, proper care is of the utmost importance.  If something does happen to your item, please call or send me an email letting me know the nature of the problem. In some cases, I may be able to either repair or replace it in a timely fashion.

Q) I saw your products and want them in my store, do you offer a volume discount?
A) Yes.  Please inquire by phone or email with the specific items and quantities you are interested in carrying, and I will provide a price quote.
